Greg films a great white with the GoPro.

“Got it. Going left!” cries Greg as he and Ben lower the GoPros. The shark swerves away from Greg’s camera—and beelines for Ben’s! “He came right at the camera!” Greg calls to Ben.

At this point, Cynthia deploys another tool on board—a decoy. Created in South Africa in the shape of a baby seal, it’s made of foam held together with plastic and wire ties, covered in gray carpeting, and attached to a long rope. “Throw it out!” Greg calls. The decoy might entice the shark to stay nearby while Ben and Greg film it. The shark swerves. Cynthia retrieves the decoy and throws it again. But the shark doesn’t seem interested.

At 1:30, the shark finally disappears. “That was awesome!” says Greg. He’s sure they got great video—and it should be fun to watch the shark lunge for Ben’s GoPro. Greg celebrates by taking another two bites of his PB&J. Before he can take a third, Wayne’s on the radio again: “Two sharks here!” he says. John pushes the throttle: “Hold on!” he tells us.
